Your field notes stay yours.
Snap Wilds keeps its recognition and journal flow local. Here is what the current release uses and what remains optional.
Short version: photos, recognition and saved GPS details stay in the app’s local flow. Snap Wilds does not upload your photo assets for recognition.
What Snap Wilds uses
- Camera and photo library: used only when you choose to capture or import an image. The bundled recognition model runs locally on the device.
- Local app data: saved catch photos, cutouts, collection progress and journal data are kept in the app’s local storage.
- Optional GPS: you may attach the current location to a saved catch for the Map. Location is not required for recognition, and it is not used as a remote tracking service.
- Apple purchases and RevenueCat: Apple handles payments through StoreKit. RevenueCat receives purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, country and a generated app-user identifier to validate access and measure subscription performance. Snap Wilds does not receive your card or bank details. Photos and saved locations are not sent to RevenueCat.
Your choices and data
You choose whether to grant camera, photo-library or location access. You can remove saved discoveries by deleting them or deleting the app. Snap Wilds does not use advertising or cross-app tracking. RevenueCat processes purchase-related data for Premium access and subscription analytics. Its privacy policy explains its handling of that data.
